MVC In Bloom Mural

Moreno Valley College alumna Rosy Cortez was contracted to lead community driven mural project on campus. Mural covered an alternative space of about 2,000 Sq.ft. and was funded by Century Circle Grant through the RCCD Foundation to support the production. Concept development included local flora and fauna research and a school wide brainstorming session with the artist. Cortez developed a design using bold colors to enhance mood and memory retention. Pattern and geometric designs related to the various areas of study at the College. Imagery represented the native flora and fauna from the region. Design was specifically tailored for all artistic levels. First week of mural production included city wide volunteer days with 170 volunteers including 70 Pre-school students.
